Bringing Shackleton’s Story to Life

Prep 6 pupils discover the remarkable journey of Sir Ernest Shackleton.

Mr Shackleton, who is Sir Ernest Shackleton’s great-grandfather’s cousin, visited Prep 6 and delivered a presentation about Shackleton’s Journey. Our pupils were fascinated to hear how the explorers survived the freezing temperatures and being stranded on Elephant Island. After learning about Sir Ernest Shackleton’s life and Antarctic adventures in their English lessons, Mr Shackleton’s visit helped bring the story to life.
