Prep 4 Visit to London Transport Museum
Prep 4 had a wonderful trip to the London Transport Museum, where they learnt about the history of transport in London.
They discovered that the first Omnibus buses were pulled by horses, and children used to collect the horse manure to sell to farmers as fertiliser. They also learnt that seats on the top of the buses were cheaper because passengers sat outside in all kinds of weather. They were especially interested to learn that the first Underground trains started in 1863 and were powered by steam!
