Upper Sixth Form Geography Trip to Iceland

Geography Trip to Iceland

Upper Sixth Geography pupils had an unforgettable time in snowy Iceland.

Visiting the sulphurous, bubbling mud pools of Krysuvik-Seltun, pupils took in the striking beauty and other worldliness of the surrounding landscape. The following day was no less spectacular as pupils walked  through Thingvellir’s Rift Valley, explored Kerid’s volcanic crater, and soaked in the warm Secret Lagoon. At Fridheimar, they learnt about geothermal tomato farming and watched Strokkur geyser erupt.

Gullfoss, the 'Golden Waterfall', left everyone in awe with its thundering cascades and the final day offered up clear blue skies for a glacier hike on Solheimajokull with panoramic views and ice cave exploration. The adventure concluded with visits to Vik’s basalt cliffs and the stunning waterfalls Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss. A truly memorable trip!
